Affordable, fast, and reliable testing

For bulk asbestos samples, enough material should be collected to cover a 2 x 2-inch square.
For materials like vermiculite, a minimum of 2 cups is required.
For stipple, collect at least 2 tablespoons.
Stucco, brick, parging and other hard materials should be broken down into smaller pieces before submission
If submitting samples for other tests, such as PCM air sampling cassettes or mould air sampling cassettes, please note the following air volume requirements:
PCM air sampling cassettes require a minimum sampling volume of 400 liters.
Mould air sampling cassettes require a minimum sampling volume of 75 liters.
For tape lift sampling, if you're not using a mould tape slide, ensure you're using clear Scotch tape (not opaque, packing or duct tape). A minimum of 5 cm of tape is required, then press it onto the surface to collect the sample. If possible, place the tape back onto a piece of wax or grease paper. Afterward, put the sample into a plastic bag and seal it.
Note: All samples must be double-bagged in resealable bags (example Ziploc)
Good Practice:
Wear gloves and a face mask when collecting samples. Seal the sample bag right away to avoid contamination. Wipe the exterior of the bag with a damp cloth to remove any material that may have adhered during sampling. Avoid puncturing the bag or creating holes to ensure the sample remains secure and uncontaminated.
Clearly label the sample bag with the following information:
Address location
Material
The specific and location within the room or structure
Please follow DURACAN's Sample Collection Guide to ensure accurate and compliant sample submission.

Use sturdy packaging to securely seal your sample.
Attach the provided shipping label firmly to the package.
Clearly label each sample with your name, the sample location address, the material type, and the specific location within the room or structure where the sample was collected.
After labeling each sample, please fill out, sign, and date the submission form. Include the signed form with your samples in the package.
If submitting samples for multiple projects, ensure each set of samples is correctly labeled, and that the appropriate form is included with each set.
Once your package is ready, drop it off at any Canada Post location.
